Arusha National Park is the closest national park from Arusha town - Northern Tourist Portal in Tanzania at about 25Km. About 40-minute drive from Arusha. Approximately 60 km (35 miles) from Kilimanjaro International Airport. It is a good tourist point for acclimatization before going to climb mount Kilimanjaro or touring other big tourists locations in Tanzania. It is a good place to visit for people who are at hurry, and no enough time to visit other remote parks.
The entrance gate leads into shadowy montane forest inhabited by inquisitive blue monkeys and colorful turacos and trogons - the only place on the northern safari circuit where the acrobatic black-and-white colubus monkey is easily seen. In the midst of the forest stands the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater, whose steep, rocky cliffs enclose a wide marshy floor dotted with herds of buffalo and warthog.
